The most valuable words that can best describe the level of our care and service come from our guests and their families.
Below are just some of the comments from letters that we have received:
"My sister and I were talking recently about how much you’ve helped our father. I thought I’d like to sit down and try to express some of the gratitude we feel. When Buford came to your board and care home he had been bedridden for 2 1/2 or 3 months. I didn’t think we’d ever be able to get him up and seriously ambulatory again. Now he’s walking with his cane all the time and seems to experience no difficulty doing so. He is steady on his feet and is confident enough to make his way around your facilities, including the garden. As he’s gotten up and around again, his mind has opened up more too. He is again starting to take an interest in his own affairs and is beginning to think in terms of long range plans. I had had to take over all the decision-making in his life, but he now demands to be an active partner in our plans for him.

Now I’m sure he is showing some of the natural resilience that let him live to be 94-years old. However, a lot of his re-awakening is due to your good care, You’ve nourished him with ample good food (I tell everyone you serve the best meals in Montecito and Santa Barbara combined). And, you’ve helped him regain both his strength and his confidence. We appreciate the way you and your staff watch over him and offer help when needed, but don’t cripple his growing independence by insisting he be constantly assisted. Lynne and I feel we’ve regained our father through your good, intelligent care. We are both very grateful."

"Thank you for your wonderful care of my dad and your kindness to me and my family. You have made 3 1/2 years of my life much easier."

"I know it wasn’t always easy but you did really well in caring for my mom and certainly were good to us. We especially appreciate your visiting her in the hospital and at the nursing home."

"Thank you for the wonderful home you provided for Allan and making his golden years the best ever."

"Thank you, bless you for all the goodness you gave my mother. She is so much better off for your kindness."

"To be with you is really a wonderful, warm homecoming. Seven-one-seven grows more and more beautiful. I love the covered sunroom – and the garden is gorgeous. Just being there helps one feel better. Those coming to fill your rooms are more fortunate than they may realize. Thank you for being a blessing in this experience I call "mine."

"Each week I plan to write and then get sidetracked. But today my DAD is visiting and complaining for the one-zillionth time about the food at his new place. He usually spends a good 5-10 minutes each visit extolling the virtues of "Marge’s fabulous first rate cooking" and how "Geri’s nursing and way with people is just wonderful.

He’s getting good care but nothing compares to you two. The people who work there all really like him but I don’t feel secure with him there like I did when he was with you."

"I just wanted to thank you for all you did for my brother Bob. He was such a "zombie" when he first went to your place, and now he reminds me of Rip Van Winkle, His brain works so much better and he asks me about things that happened so long ago. I’ve talked to him three times since he went to Auborn. I asked him about the food where he is now. He said, Oh, it’s not as good as Marge’s cooking."

"I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your generosity of time and kindness. Those seniors are lucky to have your care and love. You gave me a lot of ideas and emotional support."
