At Montecito Senior Care we have found an important connection among food and nutrition, the garden and activity. In fact, this relationship is so important that it truly represents our philosophy to elder care. Eating healthy for our physical well-being and eating happy for our emotional being is not only possible, it’s routine here. |

| Food is clearly a focal point for the staff and residents. By expanding the focus on food to include the garden, a level of activity is created in order to interact with the garden. This food, garden, and activity approach is reinforced through the many fruits and vegetables prepared in the daily meals. We have designed the garden so that it’s a part of the daily routine. The concrete walkways are wheelchair accessible and the raised gardens place flowers, fruits and vegetables at arms reach. This interaction among food, garden and activity is a continuous cycle.

Residents at Montecito Senior Care have always praised the food. We think that this praise is influenced by the cycle of food, garden, and activity, and encourage you to review the Food & Nutrition, The Garden and Activity pages for more detail on each topic. |
